About Napoleon Barney Carter
NATCHITOCHES, April 3 (Special) -- Funeral services for Napoleon Barney Carter, 56, who died at a hospital here at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. C. B. Ellis and the Rev. Turner Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery, under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Natchitoches.
Mr. Carter had been a resident of Melrose for 30 years, and was a native of near Montgomery. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include his widow, the former Maudie McIlwain, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Carter, Montgomery; two sons, Buford Carter, Shreveport; N. B. Carter of Katy, Tex., a stepson, Edd McDowell, Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Lacaze, of Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Celeste Keilan, Tex., two brothers, D. T.. Carter, of Shreveport; M. A. Carter of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. J. W. Gates, of Alexandria; Mrs. M. L. Dunn, of Houston; Mrs. C. V. Davidson, of Montgomery; Mrs. George Keeth, Jonesville; and seven grandchildren.
