  • 2. Charles L. Bryan (1833 - 6 Mar. 1865) killed at Ft. Monroe, VA. married Martha Jane Hester, widow of Oliver Munn.
  • 3. Margaret D. Bryan (1 Feb 1837 - 29 Nov 1867) died shortly after childbirth .She married William Byrd(1835 - 1902) of Robeson Co.,NC. They had 2 children: Charles William Byrd (1862-1941) and Sarah Margaret Byrd (1867 - 1920). After her mother's untimely death, Sarah Margaret lived with her grandparents ,Nathan and Margaret (Allen) Bryan. On 3 September 1884, Sarah Margaret married William F. DeVane (1861 - 1949). .
  • 4. Sarah Ann Bryan (1839-1913). She married Joseph Singletary, son of Joshua & Anna Jane (Lennon) Singletary. After his death, she married David Moore Singletary, son of David & Abigail (Lennon) Singletary . Sarah Ann was a twin of William H. Bryan.
  • 5. William Henry Bryan (1839 - 1912) married Martha J. Hester (widow of Olin Munn and his brother, Charles L. Bryan). He was a twin of Sarah Ann Bryan.

Nathan Bryan (22 January 1801-18 December 1883) [9], who married Margaret (Peggy) Allen (17 February 1811-22 January 1894), daughter of Ephraim Allen and Ann Scriven, remained in Bladen County, purchased their father's estate from his brothers and sisters, engaged in the naval stores industry, and expanded his land holdings. He participated in community and county affairs and joined the Methodist Church.
