(X) Thomas Hayward, only son of Thomas and Agnes (Beaman) Hayward, born November 9, 1584, and died October 14, 1663. He was a silk-weaver by trade, and a citizen of London, residing in St. Andrew parish. He married there, August 22, 1610, Joan, spinster, daughter of Walter Haward, husbandman, of Saulthurst, county Gloucester, and their children, all baptized at St. James, Clerkenwell, London, were:
- 4. Nathaniel, born 1617; in 1642 he had a messuage and tenement in Saulthurst, county Gloucester, formerly occupied by his brother, Nicholas, who was then in New England. Nathaniel was a resident of Saulthurst, where he paid taxes in 1649 and 1653. He married, June 12, 1642, Abigail, daughter of George and Abigail Byam, and brother of George Byam, who came with Nicholas Hayward to Essex county, Massachusetts.
