Rev. Nathaniel Leonard was the son of Major George and Anna (Tisdale) Leonard of Norton, Mass. He was born on 9 March 1699/0 at Norton and a graduated at Harvard College 1719, the first from that town. He was called to settle as pastor of the First Church in Plymouth, February 13, 1724, and was ordained on the twenty-ninth of July following. Marriage banns for Nathaniel Leonard and Priscilla Rogers were published on 22 October 1724 at Ipswich, Mass., by whom he had 16 children. Nathaniel Leonard died on 11 June 1761 at Norton at age 61.
