Nathaniel B. Parmelee, one of iron Mountain's oldest & most highly esteemed citizens, was taken alarmingly ill last Saturday & his demise is momentarily expected. the relatives have been summoned to his beside. Mr. Parmelee is about 76 years & has resided in Iron Mountain for more than 30 years.(November 28, 1914, The Norway Current newspaper, Norway, Dickinson County, Michigan.)

Another of Iron Mountain's esteemed & highly respected residents surrendered his life to the Grim Reaper of Death, answering the final call at 10:30 this morning. Nearly 78, he was married in Elmira, Wis. to Miss G. Anna Nichols & has lived in Iron Mountain for 34 years. He is survived by 4 sons, Edson, Fred, Charles, Milton, 4 daughters, Mrs. C. Butler, Mrs. F. C. Whiting, Mrs. A. H. Hunting & Mrs. S. H. Simpson., a brother, H. Parmelee & a sister, Mrs. Marion Evans. (August 21, 1915, The Current newspaper, Norway, Dickinson, Michigan.)
