Nathaniel Patten promised his sister Elizabeth (Patten) Bale that he would look after her son Benjamin after she died in England. Nathaniel brought Benjamin to New England with his family group on the Charles of Bristol about 1640.
He bought a house and land at Dorchester 28 June 1640, and was a selectman in 1657 and 1658. He also bought a wharf, land, and building in Boston in 1654.
