About Nehemiah Pratt

BATTLE OF BUFFALO dated Dec 1813: "Lieutenant Colonel Warren's and Lieutenant Colonel Churchill's Regiment under Brigadier General Timothy Hopkins, 37 mounted infantry under Captain Ransom, 83 Native Americans under Lieutenant Colonel Erastus Granger and 25 militia artillerymen with a six-pounder gun under Lieutenant Seeley," also, defending the Erie Canal at the town of Lockport. This is what son Silas named the town in Pennsylvania that he developed at the Erie Canal.

Nehemiah and Elizabeth married in 1801 in either Vermont or New Hampshire. elizabeth did have family in Addison county, Vermont, originally from Cornish, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. The family moved to New York about 1805-1807. Nehemiah and Elizabeth had divorced about1850 with Nehemiah staying in Indiana, and Elizabeth moving to Utah.

In 1850 he was living with his daughter, Clarissa in Noble, La Porte, Indiana. Noble is a small township within Union Mills.

Nehemiah married second Phebe (Brookins) Harrington, 14 Apr 1851. Shubel Harrington had either died or divorced about 1850. Phebe was (living with son William "James" Harrington in 1860 Noble Township, La Porte, Indiana census after the death of Nehemiah; her son probably buried her in this cemetery between 1860 and 1870 before removing from La Port.

Note: *Nehemiah Pratt's brother, Zadoch, had a son, Nehemiah b. 1706, Pownal, Bennington, Vermont. I'm not seeing a Nehemiah Jr. by Elizabeth Roberts. I did see an 'indication' that a Nehemiah born in 1706, has a mother named Laura Roberts, not his spouse. There may have been a Nehemiah Jr. born to Nehemiah and Elizabeth Roberts that died young, with an error regarding the mother's first name on the certificate. If there was a Nehemiah Jr. born Pownal, that means the family came to NY in 1707.

Lucinda - I found her husband, son, and daughter, but was unable to find if she remarried. Her husband died at the age of 65 and Lucinda was 10 years his junior.
