Neil served in the Boer War in the Transvaal, South Africa & in WW1 as Trooper Campbell 22251 in the Commander in Chief's Body Guard. After they married he & Ellen moved to Kinlochleven where he held a senior position with British Aluminium Co, who posted him to Norway for some time to assist in the set up of a new system there. He enjoyed gardening, was a fluent Gaelic speaker & Grand Master of Lodge St Kearan.
