She was supposedly small when young and is said to have drunk chocolate milk shakes to put on weight.

She had serious heart problems in her last years and suffered numerous small heart attacks on a regular basis. The final heart attack occurred at her home in Coral Gables and when she didn't rally as she had in the past, she was taken to the hospital. She appeared to recover enough that she told the person who had brought her to go back home, then she died in Mercy Hospital in Miami. The official cause was coronary thrombosis, secondary to hypertensive arteriosclerotic heart disease.
