==============================================================

Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV was apparently the first born and sole survivor of seven children born in England to his parents Nicholas ALDRIDGE III and his wife Margaret. Nicholas decided to sail for America for a fresh start after the death of his wife in East Wellow, Hampshire County, England on 2 Jun1666 perhaps due to complications from child birth of their last son. Nicholas ALDRIDGE III with his teenage son Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV went to the nearby port of South Hampton, England and boarded a ship for America. The son Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV was born 25 December 1653 in England who was among the first immigrants from East Wellow Parish, Wiltshire, Hampshire, England to arrive in America at Annapolis, Maryland in 1667 on a sailing ship as a young unmarried man with his father. They settled below the South River near the Severn River community of the All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Sadly the father lived only two years and died 2 Mar 1669.

Ten years later Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV married Martha BESSON in 1679 in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel, Maryland. All of their children were born in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel, Maryland. Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV died on 21 Nov 1708 age 54 and his wife Martha BESSON died 19 Oct 1719 age 57 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is suggested that at least one adult child of the Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV family migrated between 1735 -1740 after the death of their parents from All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland into western Frederick County, Maryland. This was William ALDRIDGE II and perhaps his brother James who located near the great wagon road that crossed the Potomac River at a ford into colonial Frederick County, Virginia (now Jefferson County, West Virginia). At least two daughters of William married neighbors across the Potomac River before 1750 from Terrapin Neck, Colonial Frederick County, Virginia.

The children of Nicholas ALDRIDGE IV and Martha BESSON included:

1. Thomas ALDRIDGE, born 05 Nov 1680, died 15 Jul 1703, married 15 Jul 1702 Elizabeth Purdy 2. Anne ALDRIDGE, born 6 Nov 1684, died 1761, married 3 Dec 1707 Richard RICHARDSON 3. Martha ALDRIDGE, born 1686, died 1687 4. John ALDRIDGE, born 31 Aug 1688, died 30 Nov 1750, married 1 Apr 1719 Susannah Elinor JONES 5. Joane ALDRIDGE, born 1689, died 1696 6. Sidney ALDRIDGE, born 9 Aug 1693, died unknown 7. Jane ALDRIDGE, born 3 Apr 1696, died Jun 1721, married 1718 Thomas DISNEY 8. Nicholas ALDRIDGE V, born 11 May 1698, died 17 Mar 1762, married 1733 Ursula GRIMES 9. William ALDRIDGE I, born 30 Oct 1700, died 26 Jul 1702 10. William ALDRIDGE II, born 13 Mar 1702, died 11 Apr 1786, married 3 Jul 1726 Elizabeth SYMMONS II 11. James ALDRIDGE, born 1 Jul 1706, died 1775, married 25 Feb 1740 Mary GASSAWAY
