DEATH CALLS OLD SETTLER
Nicholas Jezewski of Pine Lake Died Saturday Night
Nicholas Jezewski, who has been an invalid for several months, passed away Saturday evening at his home in Pine Lake Township. He was 68 years old. When a young man, he took part in three wars as a soldier in the German Army and escaped without a scratch.
He was married in Germany and lived there until 1872, when he came to America, settling in Chicago, where he lived for 15 years. He then came to this county and bought the farm in Pane Lake town which has since been his home. During his 22 years residence here, he proved himself to be an honest, industrious man, a good husband and father and a kind accommodating neighbor, and his passing away is regretted by all who knew him.
Deceased is survived by wis widow [Kathryn Wardyn] and six children, viz: Ignatz [Ignatius], John, William, Frank, Joseph and Mrs. Annie Belka, all of whom were present at the funeral but Joseph, who is now in Nebraska. The funeral took place yesterday morning from St. Stanislaus' church and was largely attended. The members of St. Stanislaus' society, of which the deceased had been a charter member, were present in body. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bjulski, after which the remains were laid to rest in St. Stanislaus' cemetery. The family have the sympathy of numerous friends in their bereavement.
