About Nicholas Vernell Miller
Nicholas Vernell Miller 1922 ~ 2005 Nicholas Vernell Miller passed away Thursday August 18th, 2005 of natural causes. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 2nd, 1922 to Annie May Mickelsen and Nicholas W. Miller. His education was composed of attending Granite High (1940) and furthering his studies at the University of Utah. Dad was a World War II veteran proudly serving with the eighth Air Force in Sheffield, England. During the same time he married our mother, Beatrice Baylies (12th Army Group) in London (1945). During his later years he worked with his brother Russell at the Miller Finance Co. Dad encouraged his children to ski often taking the family up to Brighton and Alta. His other enjoyments were watching old time comedy Classics (Laurel and Hardy and Marx brothers). His interest with steam powered trains was legendary often taking us on Sunday rides to see big malleys pull their freight through Ogden canyon. He was especially close to our animal pets. Though the loss of our father is hard we feel he is at peace from his physical and mental pain. Survived by two sons: Lincoln B. Miller of Coos Bay, Oregon; Nicholas W. (Debra) Miller of Bountiful, three grandchildren: Nichole, Lincoln and Madeline, three nieces: Wendy, Merle-Ann and Susan. Preceded in death by his loving wife Beatrice, parents, brother Russell Miller, sister Anna Mae Wetzel and loving daughter, Virginia. A special thank you to the Rocky Mountain Health Care (Bountiful) and all their wonderful supportive staff. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday August 22, 2005 at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North N St. Friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Utah.
