Nicholas "Nic" Stopforth ( - 2014)

Brief overview:

Nic (), was found dead on his bed in his house on a farm outside Ellisras on 3 June 2014. He had a firearm in his hand and a gunshot wound in his head. The police initially suspected that he had committed suicide, but the case was later changed to a case of murder.
According to his daughter Henriette, the investigating officer told her at the time that there was something suspicious about the way the firearm was lying in her father's hand. An autopsy also showed that he died from a gunshot wound to his chest. "There must have been more than one suspect. They shot my father in his chest and a shot through his head. After that they dragged him to my parents' bed, put a clean shirt on him and put the firearm in his hand so it looked like he had shot himself," said Stopforth.
According to Stopforth, the family felt that the police did not make an effort to investigate her father's murder and that the police detectives did not even collect all the evidence at the scene.
