Not the son of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wynter, who did have a son Nicholas Winter. That Nicholas is not known to have had children. He died “fighting Spaniards” in 1586. He was the second son, looks like he was born about 1560 at Lydney in Gloucestershire - not at Reading in Berkshire.
This Nicholas Winter died in 1596 (10 years later) and was buried in London. His father was William Winter, glover (therefore, not an admiral) and it looks like he had a son Francis, christened at Reading in 1581.
