The wedding took place at [St Peter and St Paul Church, High Street, Wadhurst, East Sussex TN5 6AA 51.0627006, 0.3401232] [Wadhurst Parish Church] on Tuesday, 30 July 1929 between Miss Nina Margaret Carr Hill, daughter of the late Mr. Alexander Hill, M.lnst.C.E., M.I.M.M., F.R.G.S., and of Mrs Hill, Pitt Cottage, Wadhurst, and Mr. Henry Alleyne Boxall, son of the late Mr. Robert Boxall, M.D., and Mrs. Boxall, of Ingleside, Abinger Common, Dorking. The officiating clergy were the Rev. L. J. Causton (Vicar), the Rev. E. V. Bond and the Rev. C. M. Tudor.
The service was choral, Miss Moren presiding at the organ. The hymns sung were "Praise my soul," "O Perfect Love" and the anthem, "Jubilate" (C. Villiers Stanford.) The Church was beautifully decorated with roses.
The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. R. Eshott Carr, was attired in deep oyster-tinted satin, with train of old Spanish lace and tulle veil. Her bouquet was of cream carnations, rosebuds and white heather, and she wore a string of seed pearls and seed pearl ornament on the shoulder.
Miss Jean Macleod (niece), Miss Lucy Carr (cousin) and Miss Violet Tudor (friend) attended the bride, the two older bridesmaids wearing dresses of flowered chiffon with green crinoline picture hats and green shoes. They carried bouquets of cream sweet peas, tied with green ribbon. The train-bearer's dress was of green chiffon, whilst the bride's mother wore blue silk marocain and carried a bouquet of sweet peas.
The bridegroom's gifts to the maids were paste and silver hat ornaments, and to the train-bearer, pearl and sapphire brooch.
Dr. S. A. Carr was best man. The reception was held at "Tregarnedd," Best Beech Hill 51.066667, 0.3, and later Mr. and Mrs. Boxall left for the Pyrenees, where the honeymoon is being spent. Their future home will be in Norfolk.
