Norbert "Butch" Joseph Needham, 68, of Waukon died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, July 27 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial with military graveside rites was held in St. Mary's Lycurgus Cemetery, rural Waukon.
Norbert "Butch" Joseph Needham was born February 21, 1941 in Monona, the son of Leo and Ethel (Burckart) Needham. He graduated from Monona High School in 1959. After high school Butch served in the U. S. Army from November of 1959 until November of 1962 as a Light Weapons Infantryman. Butch will long be remembered as an arborist, a horseman and a fun-loving uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Survivors include a sister, Delores Fee of Luana; a brother, Leonard (Jeanne) Needham of Harpers Ferry; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Welzen; a brother, Patrick "Bud" Needham; and two nephews, Craig Fee and Lyle Needham.
Casketbearers were Todd Needham, Neil and Edmond Burckart, and Brian, Christopher and Dustin Fee.
