Norma Marie Chapman/Rinebold

Norma Marie Brown Rinebold, 96, of Sayre, Pa., passed away Friday evening, April 29, 2016 at the Sayre Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born January 25, 1920 at home on Providence Street in Waverly, N.Y., the daughter of Irving Dodge Brown and Lydia Ellen Covey Brown. She was employed by the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for many years until retirement. Norma was a member of the Waverly VFW Post 8104 Auxiliary and the Waverly Moose Lodge. Norma loved to crochet and was passionate in creating lap blankets for the residents of the Veterans Administration Hospital. Family gatherings were always a treasured time in her life as were rides in the country and attending concerts in the park. Norma enjoyed gardening, reading many books, playing cards, dominos, working jigsaw puzzles and word search books. Surviving are her children; Robert R. Brown of Towanda, Richard Rinebold of Sayre, Raymond (Jan) Rinebold of Chemung, N.Y., Karl Rinebold of Chemung, Clinton Rinebold of Irmo, S.C., Grace Pond of Sheshequin, Anna (Paul) Kremer of Sayre, Dotti McCarty of Waverly, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, brother, Paul Brown of Elmira, N.Y., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Rinebold, her companion of 21 years, Malcolm G. Ellers, grandson, Karl Rinebold, granddaughter, Jody Pond, son-in-law, Donald Pond Jr., siblings, George in infancy, Miles who was killed in Saipan during World War II, Warren, Herbert and Betty and daughters-in-law, Barbara Rinebold, Nancy Rinebold and Virginia Brown. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at noon at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, Pa., with Pastor Dan Walker officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Burlington Township, Pa. The family suggests that contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
