Notes for NORMAN PIER:

Norman Pier was born in 1812, in New York, the son of Thomas and Martha (Huntington) Pier. He married 1) Mary (Mercy) Ann Bucklin , who was born November 6, 1814 in New York and died June 6, 1850, at the age of 35 years and 8 months, probably as the result of the birth of Mercy, her third child. Mercy Ann was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, in Jamestown, New York.

After the death of his first wife Mercy Ann, Norman Pier married again, a year and a half later, to Sabria A Whitney of Fredonia, on January 26, 1852. The Rev. A. Kingsbury officiated. No children are known of this marriage.

At the time of his second marriage he was in Jamestown, New York. There is a chance that he removed to Titusville, Pennsylvania.

In the Lakeview cemetery there is a Rhode Pier September 18, 1810 - March 16, 1815 aged 4 years 6 months. McCabe speculates that she may have been Norman's sister.
