Obadiah Seely III

•Father: Obadiah Seely II b. c 1645, d. 25 Jul 1679
•Mother: Esther Stevens b. 1648

•Note*: Obadiah spent most of his life in Stamford, Ct. He was one of the founders of Bedford, NY., but returned to Stamford, selling his Bedford property to Thomas Chambers by 1710. When Quenn Anne issued the patent in 1704 for the Dibble and Vinyard Purchase, Obadiah was among the 1st proprietors, along with Cornelius Seeley's, Sr and Jr. and Samuel Seeley. The Van Cortlandts later bought most of the share, but Obadieh is not listed among those selling. His grandsons John and Gideon moved to that area about 1760.
