About Octave Bryk
While in the United States Octave Bryk enlisted in the US Army in 1915; served in the Philippines; honorably discharged w/ rank of Sergeant, Quartermaster Corps, at Angel Island, San Francisco, upon return to US in 1918; interned as "Alien Enemy" (Austrian) at Fort Douglas, Utah until 1919. Octave returned on a troop ship from Virginia to Hamburg.
Until he and his family fled to Vienna in 1935 his Berlin address was Attilastrasse 170, Berlin Charlottenburg.
After the Annexation of Austria in 1938 Octave was forced to work in a toxic environment until the liberation of Vienna in 1945.
Under the new government of Vienna he became the Liaison Officer to the American, British, and French occupation forces with the rank of Police Major.
