"Olive Ingoldsby, the daughter of Anthony Ingoldsby and Dorcas Bulkeley, was baptized 24 June 1602 at Fishtoft, Lincolnshire, England. [1] She married 20 April 1620 Rev. Thomas James, A.M., baptized Boston, county Lincoln, England, 5 October 1595." [2] [3][4]
Rev. Thomas James and Olive had two sons,
- Rev. Thomas James of East Hampton, New York, and
- John James.[4][5]
Olive (Ingoldsby) James died before 22 April 1627. [6]
Rev. James married (2nd) Elizabeth (Unknown). [4] They had two sons, John and Nathaniel.[4] Rev. James and his family immigrated to New England in 1632, where they resided consecutively Charleston, Massachusetts, Providence, Rhode Island, and New Haven, Connecticut. [4] He served as a missionary to Virginia in 1642/3.[4] He returned to England in 1649,[4] and became a minister at Needham Market, Suffolk in 1650.[1] He was ejected in 1662 following the Restoration. [1] He left a will dated 5 Feb 1682, proved 13 Feb 1683/4. [7]
