About Oliver Cromwell Swift
Oliver shared his father's enterprises early in life in a more reserved fashion. He controlled an outfitted the Swift ships. The last voyage of the"Commodore Morris" in 1864 brought the whaling enterprise to a halt. The Swift wealth became diversified in th slumber industry and briefly in the glass factory in Falmouht. He was president of the Falmouth National Bank and the director of the Old Colony Line.
