History - here is a story of Orson Hyde Rose in a history of the Lemhi Mission. He was shot with an arrow by an Indian during a raid on the fort there. He never recovered his health. His brother, Alley Stephen, went with him to California so see if the climate there would help his health. It didn't do much good and both returned to Farmington where Orson died.
Orson Hyde Rose was born in Howard Steuben, New York. His parents were Abraham Rose and Catherine Nicholson, both buried in Farmington Cemetery. He married Emma Mesick. There is a story of Orson Hyde Rose in a history of the Lemhi Mission. He was shot with an arrow by an Indian during a raid on the fort there. He never recovered his health.
