Is it Orville or Orval? I usually respect a grave marker as the last arbiter of correct name spelling. Until I see that, I WANT to go with Orville because it's common spelling. Also, farther down here is a transcription of his birth record that spells it Orville; no image of the birth record was available.
Orval Watson Rash was born in January of 1880 in Richland, Keokuk, Iowa. He died there unmarried on June 24, 1904 in Richland, Keokuk, Iowa. He is buried in Reed Cemetery.
The 1880 census shows Robert's grandson William (son of Robert's son William) and William's infant son Orville living in Robert's home. Also living there was another grandchild of Robert's, Eliza, daughter of John Anderson Rash. Also living there was Robert's wife (William and Eliza's grandmother) Sethy Bryant Rash, who would die that year.
