About Oscar Curtis Rice

chased a 12-acre tract of land on the north side of N. Main St. Bigierville, were he built the present structure housing his implement business. His son. Oscar C Etice Jr.. became a partner in the business in 1943. He started a building development on the remainder of the land about his business and Rice Ave. N. Franklin St. and Maple Ave have been laid out and a number of homes built there. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Biglerville. he was also a member of the Men's Bible Class of that church, served as superintendent of its Sunday School for a number of years and was active in church work. SERVICES TUESDAY His wife, me former Ella R Trostle, died November 30, 1961 Surviving are the son, O. C Rice Jr.. Biglerville; a grandson a brother, John S. Rice, Gettys burg, now ambassador to The Netherlands; two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services Tuesday afterncon at 2 o'clock from the Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with the Rev. Dr. Henry W. Ster nai, his pastor, officiating. Inter meat in Greenmount Cemetery Arendtsville. There will be n viewing. The family has asked that flowers be omitted.
