Overman Revels

Overman was the son of Neil Archie and Mary Jane Locklear Revels. He married Juanita Clark.

The following was taken from the Aug. 11, 1977 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Overman Revels, 69, of Romulus, Mich., died Tuesday. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Berea Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lloyd Locklear, the Rev. Timothy Creel and the Rev. Sidney Oxendine officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wuanita Clark Revels of Michigan; two sons, Overman Kenneth Revels of Romulus, Mich. and Dewitt Revels of Warren, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Alain Cabrert of Romulus, Mich.; two brothers, Addie Revels of St. Pauls and E. H. Revels of Pembroke; three sisters, Mrs. Pearlie Lowery and Mrs. Sally Maynor of Pembroke, Mrs. Bennie Flair of Newport, Pa.; four grandchildren.

Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens. The family will receive at 7:30-9 Saturday at Locklear and Sons Funeral Home.
