Emil engaged in farming at Gregory for six years,held a civil service job as fireman at Aloe Field,Victoria,for awhile,and returned to farm his father's place until he was drafted into the service.

Emil was sent overseas with the Army in January,1945,he was reported missing in action a few weeks later,in February 1945,in the vincinty of Luxembourg Germany. He was killed in action with the armed forces during World War II near Luxembourg Germany.

Reinterment rites were held for Private First Class Emil Fojtik,24,Sunday June 12,1949 at 3:00 p.m. from Hubbard Funeral Home with Rev.W.E. Brown officiating.

Members of the American Legion and V.F.W. posts conducted graveside military services.

Pallbearers were members of the Veterans' organizations in Weimar.
