Here's what I have - but can't prove!

Amos Samuel Gustine, Jr, sixth child of Samuel Gustin and Abigail Shaw (brother of the Lemuel you mentioned), b. 1726, New Salem, Essex Co., MA., d. Unknown

Before 1750 m. Patience Gardiner, d/o David Gardiner and Martha Youngs, b. 1726, d. ? After 1791

she ? m. a Bunker and moved to OH with several Bunker children and her Gustine child.

• John B. Gustine, III, b. 1760, Lynn, Essex Co., MA, d. 21 Apr 1858, Richmond, Jefferson Co., OH. m. Mary Blair, Abt. 1760, near, Philadelphia, PA, d. 19 May 1849, Richmond, Jefferson Co., OH.

Children of John Gustine & Mary Blair:

• 1. Amos Gustine, Hon, b. 1789, PA, d. 03 Mar 1844, Jerico Mills, Junita Co., PA m1) Ann Wood m2) Francisca Blair Hamilton. Both marriages in Mifflintown, Junita Co., PA.
• 2. Rebecca Gustine, b. abt 1790 PA m. John B. Freeborn
• 3. John "Jack" Gustine, Jr, b. 1790, Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA m1) Ann Rodgers m2) Sarah Tomlinson
• 4. Lemuel Gustine, b. Aft. 1793

It is interesting to note that most of Amos' siblings were born in Saybrook, CT while he and one other were born in MA. There is mention of Hon. Amos in the Compendium and it states that John B. and Mary Blair are his parents. The compendium does not even note who John B's parents are or if there were other children. Perhaps if the family had stayed put and not moved the records could be found. Quite a few of Dr. Lemuel's children and grandchildren did end up in Natchez. Three brothers were noted physicans there. Hopefully I'll be able to solve this puzzle one day......
