Patrick Hamilton

PATRICK HAMILTON

Patrick Hamilton is the son of Robert Hamilton of Dalserf. NRS: GD41/384 His older brother Robert was the chamberlain of Kilwinning Abbey. RMS: 838 RMA: 2633 On 2 January 1565 he and his father, and his brothers, Mr. James Hamilton, Archibald Hamlton, and John Hamilton, had a remission from Henry and Mary, King and Queen of Scots. Hamilton Memoirs: pp. 477-79. It seems that they had supported James, Duke of Chatelherault, in his opposition to the Queen's marriage to Henry, Lord Darnley. Ibidem, 105-06
