About Patrick TWEEDY
GEDCOM Note
Patrick Tweedy (d. 1687). On 24 September 1664 he petitioned Thomas Butler, Earl of Ossory, Deputy Lord–Lieutenant of Ireland,for a grant of certain lands in Ulster. In 1668 he again petitioned the Lord–Lieutenant for the recovery of money owed to him by one Edward Bolton, of Colonel Dillon’s regiment. (Ref:Tweedie, History of the House of Tweedie, p. 45.) In 1669 he married Jane Dean and, in 1678, he served as a lieutenant, under Captain Alexander Fraser, in a regiment stationed in Ireland. He left issue two sons: (a) Thomas Tweedy: author of the Tweedys of Dublin.; (b) son, XX.
