The Next of Kin and Creditors of Johanna Christina GOTSCHALK, widow of Paul OPPEL, late of Cape Town, deceased, are required to take notice that the said Johanna Christina GOTSCHALK, widow of Paul OPPEL, died intestate, and that a Meeting of the Next of Kin and Creditors of the Deceased, and all others whom these presents may concern, will be held before the Master of the Supreme Court in the Grand Jury Room, at the Public Buildings, Cape Town on Tuesday 11th July next, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon precisely; and all such persons as aforesaid are hereby required to attend at the place and time aforesaid; then and there to see Letters of Administration granted to such Person or Persons as shall then be appointed by the said Master to be Executor or Executors Dative to the Estate of such deceased Person as aforesaid, and Tutor or Tutors Dative of the minor Heirs.

Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the intestate death of Jacobus Hendrik Oppel on the 16:th day of the month of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one for the benefit of his five minor children procreated in wedlock with his predeceased wife Petronella Barendina Voges, namely

Thus inventoried at the house aforesaid on the 17 February 1831 according to a statement made by his mother Johanna Catharina Gortschalk wife of Paul Oppel who declared to have acted herein bona fide, and that to the best of her knowledge, she has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to said estate, and the same appearer further declared that she is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solem oath if required.

He got married in Cape Town on 10 October 1773 to Anna Maria HUNDER, she was the widow of Jan Duval, and the daughter of Hendrik Hunder and Maria Magdalena van de Kaap
