Gridley-Paul M. Zehr, 82, of Gridley, IL passed away peacefully at his home at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010.

Paul was born on January 16, 1928 in Flanagan, IL the son of Milo and Rosa Bachman Zehr. He married Wilma Nussbaum on December 13, 1952 in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons: David (Vicki) Zehr and Eric (Mindy) Zehr both of Gridley; Jon Zehr of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren, Matthew Zehr, Kelsey (Christopher) Stoller; Joshua Zehr, Caleb Zehr and Allison Zehr all of Gridley; and two sisters Ruth Slagell of Normal and Eileen Lueck of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Paul was a lifelong farmer in the Flanagan area. Even after retirement, he maintained a great interest in modern-day farming practices.

He was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian church in Gridley. He was a member of the Flanagan school board for 17 years and also active in the American Angus Association.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Gridley Apostolic Christian church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso and from 9-9:45 at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Gridley cemetery.
