PATTON. Pauline (Williams) Patton, 91, of Westborough, Mass., died Jan. 2, 1995 after a brief illness at the Cloisters Nursing Home, La Jolla, Calif., where she was visiting her youngest daughter. Mrs. Patton was the second child and elder daughter of the late Almeron Newberry Williams and Alice Eugenie (Burr) Williams. Mrs. Patton attended the Noah Webster Grammar School, and graduated in the class of 1922 from Hartford Public High School, founded in 1638. She then went on to Pine Manor Finishing School (now Pine Manor Junior College). Returning to live with her family at 34 Evergreen Ave., she became engaged to Alson Currie Patton Jr. The next year they were married and moved to Worcester, Mass., where Mr. Patton had accepted a position as actuary in the Massachusetts Protective Association. More than 60 years later they retired to the Willows, Westborough, Mass., where Mr. Patton is now a patient in the Beaumont Infirmary of the Willows. Besides her husband, Alson Currie Patton Jr. of 68 years, she leaves four children: a son, John Ellis Patton of Acton, Mass., and three daughters, Priscilla Candace Patton of Lakewood, Colo., Janet Williams Patton Gardiner of Miami, Fla., and Carolyn Newberry Patton Detwiler of La Jolla, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of Wellesley Hills, Mass.; her sister, Eugenie (Williams) Granniss; and brother-in- law, Charles Gardner Granniss. She was predeceased by her brother, John Burr Williams. A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 14, 1 p.m., at Asylum Hill Congregational Church Chapel, followed by a committal service, 2 p.m., in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Peter Grandy, Senior Associate Minister of the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, will officiate at both services.
