Pauline Thayer Dolan, 79, a leading Philadelphia area golfer, died Monday at her home in Hobe Sound, Fla. She formerly lived on Golf House Road in Haverford.
A member of the Merion Golf Club and a former member of the Gulph Mills Golf Club, Mrs. Dolan was among her club's leading players. She was a member of winning teams for Merion for nine years and was twice captain of the woman's team. She was a two-time champion of Merion Golf Club. She also twice served as president of the Women's Golf Association. The widow of Henry Hoffman Dolan, she had made her home in Hobe Sound since 1950, returning to the Philadelphia area for the golf season. Mrs. Dolan was a member of the Jupiter Island Club and the Hobe Sound Yacht Club. Surviving are two sons, Henry Hoffman, Jr. and Thayer Dolan; a daughter, Peggy Thayer Miller, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4 P.M. Thursday at the Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr.
