Pearl Persis Geiser

ORRVILLE Pearl Persis Lehman, 88, of Orrville and formerly of the Kidron area, died Friday morning, July 22, 2005, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, following a brief illness. A Memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Kidron Mennonite Church with the Revs. Terry Shue and Herman Myers officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at 10:15 a.m. in the church cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements. She was born in Paint Township, Wayne County on April 16, 1917, to Peter F. and Lydia J. (Steiner) Geiser and had lived most of her life near Kidron until moving to Maple Terrace at Orrville four years ago. She was a faithful charter member of the Kidron Mennonite Church and enjoyed contributing her quilt making skills to the women's monthly service meetings. She had spent many years caring for her parents and others and had jobs in food service at Central Christian High School and Kidron Town & County Store. She loved caring for her home vegetable garden, orchard, and colorful flower beds. For many years the elderly of her community looked forward to the "Swiss nothings" she made and shared at Christmas time. Over the years she had made many comforters and quilts for her extended family and worldwide relief needs. On June 8, 1968, she married Ezra Lehman. He died September 24, 1980. Surviving are five stepchildren, J.E. (Emma) Lehman, M. David (Lois) Lehman, and Pearl Taylor, all of Kidron, Mabel (Ted) Warfel and Gloria (Glenn) Kaufmann of Orrville; 15 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren and many Geiser nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Allen, Melvin, Lester, Tillman, and Leaman Geiser and a stepson, Wayne Lehman. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
