Pearl Elaine Koppel, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Koppel worked side by side with her husband David, in Kay's Fashions, their family business in Kansas City, with five area locations, for almost 50 years. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah and its Sisterhood, B'nai B'rith, Hadassah, and served as chairman of the Wyandotte County Family/Children's Services. She was also a member of the Foundation Board of Bethany Hospital and was President of the Women's Chamber of Commerce in Kansas City, KS.

Mrs. Koppel was born in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Sol and Minnie (Abramovitz) Movitz, and was a lifelong area resident. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 41 years, David Koppel; her second husband of 15 years, Harold Lipp; and her brothers: Phillip Movitz and David Movitz.

Mrs. Koppel is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Stanton Koppel, Piedmont, CA; Arlan and Nancy Koppel, Prairie Village, KS; and her grandchildren: David Koppel, Kansas City, MO; Paul Koppel, Prairie Village, KS and Lauren Koppel, New York, NY.

She cherished her family and her community and lived a very happy life. Mrs. Koppel was a positive influence on those around her. She was blessed by having a number of caretakers who were wonderful and considerate. Mrs. Koppel will be greatly missed by her family members, friends and caretakers.
