Pearl Geneva Miller was born December 7, 1895 to parents, Jesse Clinton Miller and Susan A. "Sudie" McCurdy,in Payne County, Oklahoma, Indian Territory. In November 1913, Pearl Geneva Miller married George Washington Steppick. They ran away and married at the Sand Hill School House. They stood in a one-horse buggy and were married by Preacher Haynes who stood on the ground. They were married 60 years when George passed away at age 83. During their marriage, George and Pearl had seven children, two girls and five boys. She was a beloved mother, Sunday School teacher and pianist.
