Photo is a Deed conveying land, in Kingston, to Peleg Tupper from Samuel Stetson. "In confideration of the sum of six hundred sixty six dollars and 66 cents...a certain lot or parcel of land with a dwelling house thereon laying and being in Kingston afforesaid on the road leading to the gristmill near the meeting house. together with the priviledge of drawing water from the well near said dwelling house..." Second day of May 1796. ***********Photo #2 is of the house Peleg built in 1809 upon his retirement. The Federal style home still exists as 228 Main street Kingston, MA.********* Peleg and Violetta are buried across the street from their home in the old cemetery. Buried to the right of Peleg is Violetta. Buried to the left of Peleg is his grandson George Nathan Brooks (Caroline's son) ***** Peleg was the owner and master of the schooner "Charity" of Kingston. This was a two mast, single deck, square stern ship of 95 tons. It was 66 feet long, 20 feet wide and had a draft of 7 feet 7 inches. It was built in Kingston in 1801.***** Prior to the "Charity" Captain Peleg was the Master of the "James". Registered in Kingston this was a 78 ton schooner built in Kingston in 1796. The ship was 65 feet long, 18 feet wide and had draft of 7 feet. It had one deck, two masts and a square stern. Owned by John Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, David Beal and Peleg Tupper. Men on board were, Wm Dotten (mate), seamen Zackerus Holmes, Johnathan Bartlett, Simon Richmond. The "James" was previously registered in Camden, Maine.******Captain Peleg was the Master of the "Seaflower" out of Kingston in 1794. This was also a single deck, two mast, square stern schooner. Owned by Ebenezer Lobdell, it was built in Scituate 1787.******
