Percy Jacob is # 1390 on the 1907 Wooster Roll where he is identified as the daughter of Mrs. Lizette Jacob # 1366. His traditional name is recorded as "Sikate" meaning "Sunshine" but to gain fuller understanding the name and translation require scrutiny and comment by those with expertise in nuances of the Anishinaabemowin language and Potawatomi culture. No immediate family members are recorded for Percy Jacob.
In 1907 when Percy Jacob was age 39 he was living at Sheshegwaning he was living at Sheshegwaning Reservation where he held only "partial" rights in Canada. The explanation in the Wooster Roll for "partial rights" states, "Are British subjects, and receive all rights except in money arising from the sale of surrendered part of Indian reservation under a former treaty." That statement requires scrutiny and comment by historians with expertise in treaties of the 1700's and 1800's, especially in light of 2016 constitutional consultations at Sheshegwaning.
