Perry Green Gough was the son of Thomas Dragoo and Alitha Catherine (Flesher) Gough of Reedy, Roane County, West Virginia. His siblings were: Albert, Mary Louise, Marshall, Sara Jane, Porter, Solona Florence, Monroe, Thomas and Benjamin.

Perry's first wife was Forest Rose Fox. They were married in 1878. Forest died in childbirth.

His second marriage in 1888 was to Sevillar Jane Stewart in Roane County. They had the following children: Carrie, James, Dorothea, Addie, Lydia, Eva, and Mary Elizabeth. This family lived in Lee, Calhoun County for many years. Sevillar died in 1909.

His third wife's name is unknown but they had a daughter, Gladdis born in 1814.

Perry died at age 73 years.

NOTE: The name Gough is sometimes spelled "Goff".
