About Perry Lee Raybuck

Perry Lee Raybuck died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, in the room he loved surrounded by his family and friends.

Perry was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Jefferson County, Pa., near Hazen and raised in Oil City, Pa. He graduated from Oil City High School Class of 1940. Perry enlisted in the Army Air Corps in June 1942 and served 26 months overseas in the Air Transport Command in China, Burma and India theater. He flew 62 missions over the hump to China. Among his decorations are a Distinguished Flying Cross, air medal with oak leaf cluster and an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three battle stars.

Perry married Mary Lou Stephens on Jan. 2, 1946, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in June 1950 with a degree in pharmacy. He was employed at Kem Drug in Oil City through 1958. In 1958, the family moved to Fort Worth, where he was employed at Miller Pharmacy, Moreland Drug, Collier and Mobley Ridglea Drug, which he acquired ownership of in 1962 and operated until 1987 when he sold it and retired.

He was a member of Edgepark United Methodist Church, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Hump Pilots Association and the Texas and Tarrant County Pharmaceutical Association.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Amos and Helen Clark Raybuck; brother, William; sister, Margaret; and son, Michael.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Lou Raybuck; sister, Betty Yarnell and husband, Red; sons, Perry Lee Jr. and wife, Susan, and Keith and wife, Patsy; grandsons, David Perry and wife, Lindsay, and Sean Michael Raybuck; great-grandson, Perry David, born on Aug. 26, 2008; and a host of other loving family and friends
