Mr. Perry Samuel "P. S." Snipes, age 82, of North Wilkesboro died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Avante of Wilkesboro.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM, June 16, 2009 at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Benton Trawick and Rev. Steve Snipes officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mr. Snipes was born November 20, 1926 in Robeson County to Perry and Louvanna Parker Snipes. Before retiring, he served as a loan officer at Bank of America, where he had worked for 40 years. Mr. Snipes was a member and served as an Elder of North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Wilkes County Crime Stoppers, Wilkes Y's Men's Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Mulberry Fairplains Ruritan Club. Mr. Snipes served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Lee "Bobbie" Courtney Snipes; one sister, Foy Edwards; seven brothers, Carl Snipes, James Snipes, Albert Snipes, Earl Snipes, Alford Snipes, Percy Snipes and Bobby Joe Snipes.

He is survived by:three sons, Rev. Steve Snipes and wife, Cathy, Perry Snipes and wife, Nancy all of North Wilkesboro, Tommy Snipes and wife, Donna of Cary, two sisters, Sue Neal Lupo and husband, Earl of Raeford, NC, Mary Catherine Hayes of Rocky Mount, NC; seven grandchildren, Jay Snipes, Katie Snipes, Laura Snipes, Rachel Snipes, Matt Snipes, Brad Snipes and Zach Snipes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church, 804 E. Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
