

Perry Wilber was the eldest of 12 children born to George Washington "Wash" Wilber and Catherine McIntosh on June 30, 1867 in Lawrence County, Illinois. He married Josephine Haughton, of Knox County, Indiana (across the Wabash river) in Oaktown, Indiana in 1888 at the age of 21. Together they had 10 children which where all raised on a farm near Russellville, Illinois. First he farmed but later became a school teacher, followed by a position as County Commissioner in Lawrence County, Illinois. Perry died in 1947 at the age 80 and was preceded in death by his wife Josephine and four of his children, Alice, Brian, Dorothy, and Stanley.
