In 1880 he lived in Sharon, Portage County, Wisconsin with his wife and three children, Maria/Marianne, Anna, Gerard.
He and his wife and the firstborn (Mary/Marianna) left Prussian/Poland and sailed to America from the German port of Bremen. They arrived in New York, NY on June 13, 1872. They first settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and later on on a farm in Portage County, Wisconsin. (See ship manifest under Media).
