Also studied law in San Francisco, CA. Settled permanently on Sacramento river 1871. "Randall Island". House had 14 rooms. House last owned by Douglas Chan. Lincoln Chan was Douglas Chan's father-who worked for Beckman (son of Peter). Peter is buried in the Sacramento City Cemetary-pioneer section. Also a member of the Masons. Masonic Hall-Franklin Lodge 6th & K sts-Sacramento, CA. One time president of the Farmers & Mechanics Bank of the city. Helped form the county of Inyo. Justice of peace in Inyo County.
