About Peter Jacoby

Warning

Do not confuse with Johann Peter Jacobi . Peter is often attributed to this family, but the other Peter had a totally different life in Germany.

Life

Peter Jacobi, an immigrant from the Palantine in Germany, arrived in America on the ship "Saint Mark". He arrived at Philadelphia, PA, September 26, 1741. He settled in Bucks Co., PA.

Peter Jacobi was married to Mary Elizabeth Heuer, who survived her husband for many years. She died at the home of her son-in-law, Andrew Snyder, in Richland Township, Bucks Co., PA previous to January 9, 1790, when letters of administration were granted on her estate.

Origins

There are plausible baptism records for Peter across the Rhineland region. But his wife's birth name "Heuer", is rarer. Both together happen only in Trier and Simmern.

Unfortunately, we do not find a baptism record for Peter's wife in either town. Without that we cannot guess which birth record belongs to Peter, if any do.
