About Peter Kinder, R. S.

Patriot (R5931) m. Margaret. (I read this to mean that Patriot (R5931) is Peter Kinder and that he married Margaret [Margaret Anna Sea]). John Hanger appeared before Judge Porter 9-22-1809 (and) stated he preached the funeral of Peter Kinder, a member of the Lutheran Congregation of said County signed Dec. 1845. Ann Chappel, age 93, stated was personally acquainted with Peter and his wife before ( they) married, lived with them one winter. Knew he was called to the war and wounded. His wife went over the Blue Ridge (mountains) to bring her husband home. Affidavit from Eliz. J. Kinson (says) she remembers the time when Phillip Kinder and Peter's wife went to North Carolina to bring Peter home in a wagon and teem (wagon with team of horses), wounded in leg at Battle of Guillford. They (Peter Kinder and Margaret Anna Sea) married 1774 in Virginia. Peter died 9-2-1809. George Kinder, administrator (of Peter Kinders estate, I assume). Peter drafted or enlisted (Private) in Wythe County, Virginia in 1781. Served under Cloyd in North Carolina. Christopher Phillip, age 82, personally knew Peter, (and said) that he served 1781, knew wife (Margaret Anna Sea Kinder) went to Salem, North Carolina and lived with husband (Peter Kinder) while he was under the doctor's care from (for) the wound. Wife requested pension, (but) was rejected 5932 (I assume this number refers to the pension request). Received land 7-7-1772 (in) Columbia County, Georgia, (said) land sold (in) 1795 to Isaac Cliett (Cliatt) and his widow Anna (Anna Kinder) who had married Isaac.
