About Peter R Kitner

Peter Riggleman Kitner and his wife were married in Illinois. Several of their small children are buried near Streator, Ill. On one occasion Peter R. took his wife back to PA by wagon, his wife being ill most of the trip. She was unable to speak the German language and insisted on returning to Ill. Later they moved to Osceola, Iowa. Not long after this move the family went to Kansas to visit Sarah's sister. While they were gone their house burned, resulting in a complete loss of all their household possessions. Next the family moved to Henderson, Iowa. Their daughter Luella, married and with her husband moved to a farm near Genoa, Nance, Nebraska. Her parents moved into that locality about 1895, which was known as the Skeedee community.

Peter R. made his living by farming.
