About Peter Roy Crawford R1B

September 30, 1875 newspaper article: "Mr. Peter Crawford will be advanced to the senior school at the retirement of Maj. Lewis."

Sarnia Observer of July 4, 1879 - note in Wallaceburg section to say that on June 27, the I.O.O. F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) Sydenham Lodge No. 120 had elected brother Peter Crawford to represent them

Frank Vink phone interview with Roy Crawford: "Peter (Roy's father) taught school in Wallaceburg before he taught at SS#12 (the Cork or Hurley School House) in Chatham Twp....

The Crawfords collectively owned about 800 acres between the 14th and 17th concessions of Dover Twp. Little Egypt was a name used for part of the homestead as was 'The Pool'. It was at the tree line between the grass plains and marshes (before dyking took place) and is roughly in the area between the Baldoon Road and BearLine Road survey.

Mabel's father, Charles R. Buck. is the only member of the family in Kent Cty., even though there was a Buck living along the Thames River near Chatham.

After moving the old Kinney House Hotel from Oungah to the farm on Lot 29, Baldoon Rd., Con. 12 in 1915, Peter and family moved from the Crawford holdings a few miles away, in Dover to this other farm within the holdings but not in the main block." The Chas Bucks also lived here, in a separate house, at this time.
