   "1.  PETER SMITH was born 12 Oct 1720 and baptized 14 Oct (pg 200 Records of Old Swedes Church)  Hans' name is Hans Jurgen Smith on the records. Sponsors were Herr Provost Erick Biork absent in Sweden in whose place answered the Provost and Past. in Christina Mr. Andreas Hessellius, Johan Gustaf's son (John Justis) and his wife Brita, Mrs. Maria Stalcop. Brita has been identified as a sister Maria who married John Justis 13 Nov 1704 & Mrs. Maria Stalcop is Maria Morton who married Maria's brother John Stalcop in 1711.  (Communicant Records Hold Trinity Church-Old Swedes Church).
   "Peter married ca 1745 in New Castle Co, DE, Elizabeth Van De Ver daughter of Philip & Elizabeth Van De Ver.  Elizabeth was born 3 Jan 1725.  Their marriage does not appear in the Old Swedes Church records but this footnote appears on pg 66 of the Communicant Records of Holy Trinity Church.  "The marriage of Peter, son of Hans George and Maria (Stalcop) Smith to Elizabeth, daughter of Phiip Vandever and his first wife, Elizabeth, is not recorded in the church books.  Their daughter, Mary, born 19 Jun 1746 bpt 22 Jun 1746 Sponsors:  Philip Van de Weer; Hans Smidt; Beata Hopman (wife of Philip Van der Weer); Mary Stalcop (wife of Hans Smidt) (Holy Trinity Records, Second book, pg 258 & pg 38 Vol 4 Delaware Genealogical Society Journal)  Mary is listed in the congregational census of 1752 living with her mother and her mother's sister, Susannah Vandever."

 Pg 66 footnote 56 Delaware History-Communicant Records: Holy Trinity Church-The marriage of Peter, son of Hans George and Maria (Stalcop) Smith, to Elizabeth, daughter of Philip Vandever and his first wife, Elizabeth, is not recorded in the church books.  Their daughter, Mary, born June 19, 1746 (Holy Trinity Records, Second book, pg 258), is listed in the congregational census of 1752 as living in Wilmington with her mother and her mother's sister, Susannah Vandever.
